The kids will be on break, and you’ll need somewhere to take them (and you) to have fun, and secretly keep their minds learning! Join us for a whole week filled with science experiments, demos, and activities- fun for the whole family. Each day will have a different type of science theme, so come every day for something new and different!
Monday 3/13: Astronomy day-- 1:00-4:30 pm-- Learn how to make clouds, imagine life on other planets and size up our solar system by creating your own pocket solar system to take home! Astronomy Live! will be playing in the Space Theater. This live, interactive astronomy show uses images of the current nighttime sky to introduce visitors to the most popular and intriguing objects in the heavens.
Tuesday 3/14: Pi Day--1:00 -4:30 pm--Enjoy activities and demos surrounding the number Pi=3.1415926. Plus it's Einstein's birthday so the DHDC staff will be serving FREE* pie starting at 1:59 pm. Visitors also have the opportunity to participate in a pie-eating contest at 3:00 pm. *while supplies last
Wednesday 3/15: Zoology Day--12:00-4:30 pm-- Create your own animal print stamp to take home and learn about different animal tracks. Visitors may also test their skills as a veterinarian at the ‘DHDC Vet Clinic’. Learn how to enjoy nature as a family with the Wild Cat Bluff from 12:00 pm-4:00 pm. Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will be on-hand from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm with live critter friends and teaching you what to do when you find an injured wild animal.
Thursday 3/16: Biology Day--12:30-4:30 pm--Come and help out those in need by donating the gift of life with Coffee Memorial. Eligible donors will receive a free T-shirt and be entered into a drawing for 50” TV and a $100 gift card to Texas Firehouse. Biology Day activities include testing your fears by dissecting a cow eye and learning how to treat wounds in the ‘DHDC Clinic’.
Friday 3/17: Physics Day-- 1:00-4:30-- Test your fears by letting a bowling ball swing by your face or lie on a bed of nails! You can also take a ride on DHDC’s hover board and craft your own to take home.
